Carney Promised No Cuts.
Mark Carney’s government will announce its first budget in early November, which is expected to include 15% cuts to foreign aid, despite the prime minister’s campaign promise to protect aid and save lives.
Aid cuts by the U.S., UK, France, Germany and more are already causing at least 88 deaths every hour. Canada can either throw gas on this devastating fire or show lifesaving leadership.
If we act now, we can show these ministers that Canadians care about aid. We firmly believe that upholding our commitments and upholding our values are the cornerstones of Canada’s strength.
Sign this petition to the Prime Minister and Finance Minister Champagne telling them to do the right thing: don’t cut aid!

Truth: Canadians value foreign aid. Polls consistently show that Canadians support international assistance and want their government to help those in need around the world.
Truth: Canadians value people everywhere. We know that ignoring the world won't keep us safe or prosperous. Global challenges require global solutions, and Canadian leadership in international development makes us all more secure.
Truth: Aid is one of the greatest success stories of the past 100 years. From eradicating smallpox to lifting millions out of extreme poverty, foreign aid has transformed lives and built a more stable, prosperous world.
